P A I N T E R

Born in Sherbrooke (Canada) in 1976, I moved to the suburbs of Montreal at the age of six. During my childhood, I took an interest in visual art of creating. I bought my first tubes of paint when I began attending secondary school and started to paint without any restraints or boundaries. At seventeen, I moved to Montreal where I attended the Cegep of Old Montreal, studying in visual arts. My first exhibition, at the graduate students visual art exhibit, took place in 1996. Soon after, I decided to take a break from my studies and in 1997 left Montreal to travel to London, England where I lived for 2 years. Upon my return, I plunged back into my studies, specializing in Fine Arts at Concordia University, graduating with distinction in 2003. Throughout my studies, I painted in a more rigorous way, which enabled me to develop my 'plastic' language. I use oil-based paints and spatula to create my paintings. Using spontaneous gestures, I succeed in obtaining textures and dimension. The overall result is an explosion of colour and form. This led to my first solo exhibition in November 2004, held at the Gallery SAS in Montreal. Since then, I moved back to London in 2006 and painted several new pieces. I have moved to Hong Kong from 2009-2011 and made a very successful exhibition in July 2011 before returning to London. Travelling has always been a great source of inspiration for me. After living in New York City for 3 years from 2012-2015, I moved back to London where I’m preparing a new exhibition.
